Dr. Robert M. Kelso graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2002, and completed a General Practice Residency at UT Hospital in Knoxville in 2003. Prior to studying at Dental School, he attended Birmingham-Southern College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Kelso has kept up to date on many continuing education classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and the Tennessee 5E Study Club. Dr. Kelso is an alumni of the Pankey Institute, and continues to actively participate in the ongoing curriculum at the Institute.  The Pankey Institute is the premier center for learning and advancement in the dental profession.  Dr. Kelso also participates in Donated Dental Services (DDS) through the National Foundation of Dentistry For The Handicapped, a charitable affiliate of the American Dental Association. Through this program he provides dentistry to underserved persons with disabilities.

Dr. Kelso is a native of Knoxville and is married to his wife Allison. They have two children, Sam and Molly.  He stays busy coaching Sam and Molly's sports teams, playing tennis and soccer, and fly-fishing when he gets the chance.
